Hank just earned a lot of points from me for that. He's completely right. A-Rod is a loser for doing what he did, when he did, and for all his failures. He's an egomaniac, and never deserved the privilege of wearing the pinstripes in the first place.

Good riddance to him.

I fell sorry for A-Rod.He is a great talent like Michael Jackson and has a major personality flaw like Jackson. Could have been a great roll model instead a self absorbed egomaniac. His reason for opting out is to blame real Yankees like Andy ,Mo amd Jorge for what he say is their lack of commitment.What about the other 21 guys on the team.The Yankees will find a replacement,maybe not someone with as much talent but lets hope it is someone without character flaws like A-rid and is a real Yankee like Mo, Andy, Jorge, Melky, Robbie , Joba, Derek, Johnny, Bobby and the rest of the real Men on the team. He could have been a great Yankee but more likely to end up like OJ a great talent but very serious Ego problems.

A-Rod is the same piece of **** he always was. I know it's easy to bash on him now but I've been one of those voices that have questioned his heart and his grit since the first season with the Yanks. All you need to see is his post season performance. Truth his he can't elevate his game when needed. What he does do well is take advantage of bad pitches from bad pitchers. The trouble is there are fewer bad pitchers/pitches in the playoffs so the hitters have to step up their game and A-Rod can't do that. He is to worried about the papers might say about him. You would think he would have learned from the time he went to Texas that the more he chases the money the worse his situation gets. Hopefully he signs somewhere for 30 mil and his soon to be ex-wife gets half!!!!

I'm really feeling Hank's comments. We don't need a player like that. I understand the money part, but at some point you have to see that your being offered a whole lot of money with a team that will do anything to win. After what A-Hole and his devil of an agent did last night I just feel that he can't get out of town fast enough. First of all our enemies are about to win the world series and to add to our grief you tell the world that your not coming back. We"ll have the last laugh. How awesome would it be if we won the World Series next year?? Stupid question right, but I think it would be a whole lot sweeter knowing that we did it with out that dirt bag.

Does anyone know what the Yankees plan are for Eric Duncan?? I remember they were talking about making him into a first baseman when we traded for A-Rod.

Gosh, it is so sad that things have come down to this. As much as I think A-Rod did a lot (well, at least in the regular season) Hank is right. Forcing someone to stay will only create a mess not only on the field, but in the clubhouse as well. I guess the Biggios, Gwynns, and Bagwells are no longer around. None of these players won a World Series but had a lot of heart to use their talents in order to better a ball club. While losing a talent like A-Rod is a big blow, just remember we won multiple WS with a guy at the hot corner named Scott Brosius!
