The Yankees are World Champions. Guess who doesn't like that?
When the Yankees win the World Series (or do anything good, for that matter), the Yankee Haters™ come out in full force. For those who
don't want to slog through the comments section of my last post, here
are all the STUPID comments from STUPID people. You can mock them,
correct them, point and laugh....whatever. But these people should be
named and shamed. Enjoy:

And no, I didn't drink any HatorAde, New Yorkers tend to think the baseball world is out to "talk trash' because the Yankees win (or buy) wins... Really it comes down to the fact that any non-Yankee fan... is a fan who appreciates the game. The Yankees torment the integrity of baseball by accumulating the nations collection of individual sellouts. If every team resulted in the purchase of players like NY... we'd have a repeat of the 1994 season again... and again... ...and again... - ryandepaul
What can i said.....300 millon dollars latter......off course they will win....imagine if teams like the Davil Rays, Marlins, or Rockies....with such a budget.....i think MLB has to make a salary contract limit a year...or we are going to see ALL STAR YANKEES vs Average Players in other teams.... I don´t know who else they´ll going to hire....maybe this year it will be...Albert Pujols, Itchiro and off course...Roy Halladay.... MLB commisioner needs to make adjudsments quickly or the league will be a mess like the NBA allready.....no body wants to see it... - lamec@yahoo.com

It's another sad day in baseball when the team that buys the commissioners rule book and spends above the salary cap, that was put in there to make it fair for all teams, has claimed another untainted series win. Don't believe it for a second folks. The Yankees have the commissioner on their payroll too. Why can't the Yankees play within the rules? I guess it's ok for the Yankees to cheat as long as they win..isn't that correct Bud? The Yankees have such a gathering of great players that it is impossible for them to play fairly in MLB. They need to create a league of their own so they can play other teams with the same salary cap as them. The Yankees could NEVER win a championship by playing within the rules .. NEVER!!!! I hope you sleep well at night commissioner. You're the one people count on to make things fair in baseball. How does that pocket full of Yankee cash feel? - jfrie3@yahoo.com

The Yankees did it again. The Yankees in the early years deserve all the praise in the world. Today, not so much. For those who call us Yankee Haters, Thank You!!! I do hate the Yankees and all they stand for. I don't hate the fact that they win or that they spend money like it's water. I hate the fact that you accept A-Rod and Pettitte for their drug use. I hate the fact that you don't acknowledge the fact that other teams are not on an equal playing field finacially. You think that the Yankees won because they happened to be a team of destiny rich in history. I wish that were true. This way other teams could do it to. All other teams can not keep up with the deep pockets of the Yankees. Yankee fans step up and call it like it is. We won because we know how to spend money and we don't care who we hire to do it. Hit the ball, run the bases and pitch like a fein. It doen't matter how you do it. We will reward you for it. Nobody challanges the fact that you have the best team. But it is almost entirely bought. I hate free agency. It has made baseball what it is today. Spend, spend, spend. This is why the hard working class can not afford to take their family to a game anymore. The Yankees and their fans are part of the reason why baseball is fading as America's pastime. We accept the higher ticket prices. If you noticed the stands at the new Mega-Yankee stadium, there were a lot of empty seats. Not even the great Yankees can fill seats at those prices. The beginning of the end. No matter what you say Yank-mees is funny. - trs007
How can you even celebrate this, the yankees are a revolving door for steroids, and i think they r the laughing stock of the league, ya A- Roid had a great post season, he must have had jeter inject him with hgh b4 the game, , YANKEEESSS SUCK, i do like teixera , cc, and burnett, but how can u cheer for cheater like A rod and pettite, AROD will break Bonds record and still never b elected to the HOF, im sorry i just have a pure hatred for the yankees - emoney12

What can be said that hasn't been said already? The Yankees bought another championship, that's pretty obvious. Any Yankees fan that isn't willing to admit that money was a huge factor should revoke their rights as a baseball fan (as it goes with most baseball teams but the Yankees are clearly the worst in this case, as they havebeen for quite some time). I will congratulate Joe Girardi, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada (as I like them and knowing that they are receiving part of this championship makes me feel a little better), but most of the others I could care less about (especially Nick Swisher). However, the worst culprit is the fan base because the majority of Yankee fans are selfish and ignorant (as are Red Sox fans but this post is directed towards New York so I'll keep it that way). People who assume a DAY after the WS win that #28 is on its way need to shut the f*ck up. Just because they are the Yankees doesn't make them any more special than any other team. Last time I checked, your team hasn't won a championship in almost 10 years prior to yesterday so this trash talk is completely childish and unnecessary. Arrogant Yankee fans (only the arrogant ones because I know plenty who are not and for that, I respect them), cherish what you have now and keep your mouths shut. I'm sure you're as much of an embarrassment to the loyal Yankee fans as bandwagon Red Sox fans are to the real ones. For the real Yankee fans who don't find the need to post garbage and act like @ssholes, congratulations. The Yankees were clearly the best team this year. - crystlis49

Same story with the Lakers in basketball. And now that Jerry has that new stadium in Dallas, he'll circumvent the spirit of the agreements and do the same with the Cowboys in football. Excuse me while I scratch my ash and yawn. Think I'll turn the tube off and help my wife wallpaper the bathroom. -
maybe next year when MLB makes a rule limiting how many times you can have a talk at the mound Yankees wont be able to cheat to get their bull pen ready. Visiting the mound 19 times in one inning, seriously? - I cant believe how either blind or stupid you Yankees fans are. No, other teams do not have the revenues to spend on players. The next closest team in payroll is over 60 million less than your beloved yankee scumbags. This World Series will always have an asterisk beside it due to the fact that you bought Sabathia and Teixeira last year to get to the World Series. Tell me, where would you be without those two? Now just go out and buy Lackey and Jason Bay this off season and tell yourselves again next year how awesome you are. (Im sure A ROID could help you with that) - fenwayfan

Congrats to the Yankees on another "PURCHASED" title. It just goes to
show what money can buy...and it doesn't hurt all that much when the
umpires give you every break throughout the playoffs as well.
By "purchasing" Tex, Burnett, Sabathia, they proved that they bought
another ring like they have before. I love how players like A-Rod makes
as much this season as the entire starting defensive lineup as a team
like the Angels.
Yes, I said that correctly. The Angels starters:
1b Morales
2b Kendrick
ss Aybar
3b Figgins
Lf Rivera
Cf Hunter
Rf Abreu
P Saunders
All COMBINED make less than A-Roid alone.
How you New Yorkers can ignore these FACTS baffles me.
but hey, it was expected. ;] - ryandepaul|

//Wow.. what are these people's problems? Unreal. Enjoy your 27th kid!!! //
I have no idea. I think it's sad. When the Red Sox won in 2007, I didn't go around to their blogs and spew nonsense and garbage everywhere. Why would I? My team didn't win, so I had nothing to say. All these Yankee Haters....they amuse me and they don't even realize it . They think they are hurting me or insulting me or being mean.....they're comical.

I could have deleted the comments, sure. But then they wouldn't be embarrassed and people couldn't laugh at them, unless someone quoted them in a response. I figure, if you're going to do something as dumb as that, you deserve to be mocked for it.
I treat fans of other teams with respect, even if I go after the team. I treat the FANS with respect, and if myself and other Yankees fans here are going to be disrespected, I will call the commentors out on it.

//Wow - seeing the negative posts, Beth, one right after another, is sort of hilarious.//
Sort of hilarious? You're selling them short, Lee Ellen. They are ABSOLUTELY hilarious.
//Yankees clearly were the best team in all of baseball this year and they had some unlikely heros who were NOT the highest earners. It is great to be a fan of a baseball team, any team, and it is great that we can post opposing views on another team's blog..that is what makes things interesting and freedom of speech is one thing that makes our country great. But to spew vulgar hate-based comments shows the mental levels some people operate at and ignoring them is really all the attention they deserve.//
You're right about ignoring them, but some of it was too good to pass up. So I decided to do a Wall of Shame and let all my regulars have at it. If you're going to waste your time, prepare to pay for that.
//Yankees won it fair and square, - this coming from a cross-town Mets fan (who also happens to love the Yankees!!). Lee Ellen btw, good job with your blog, Beth. One of the few non-Met blogs I enjoy. :) //

Wow - seeing the negative posts, Beth, one right after another, is sort of hilarious. People clearly think it comes down to money. Gosh, I sure hope none of them were Mets fans because we positively can discount those posts right off the bat..with the Wilpons coming in a with a nasty sized payroll every year and a team that still tanks or collapses, the money angle pretty much shrivels up - and I say this wearing my heart on my sleeve as I am a very disappointed Mets fan. Yankees clearly were the best team in all of baseball this year and they had some unlikely heros who were NOT the highest earners.

Ignoring the wretched lot of haters is good advice. What I find amazing is the amount of bitter people who would litter the blogs following teams they don't like with their bile. That is alien to me.

I must be lucky cuz I don't get any haters at my blog. I'd like some, just so I can point out how ridiculous they are. That's one of the things I miss about MLBlogs.
Their dislike for all things Yankees boils down to one thing, jealousy. Who wouldn't want an owner that's so dedicated to winning that he's willing to lose money to do it? I also never get why the discussion is always about the Yankees spending and not the lack of spending by other teams. Last time I checked every MLB team, except for the Yanks, was making money. How about reinvesting in your team so you can become competitive? Maybe then the real talented guys will want to play there. Like the saying goes, you have to spend money to make money. If you spend to win, like the Yankees do, you'll put more butts in the seats. You'll sell more merch. You'll get more TV revenue. And who knows? Maybe you'll squeak out a playoff series or two and get all that added revenue. Non-Yankee fans need to quit complaining about us and start complaining about their team's lack of desire to win. Stop being jealous.
Enough with the negativity. Time to accentuate the positive. The Yanks are the champs! They're the kings of baseball. It was a truly magical season. We should definitely soak it in and recognize it as one of the best. The team played as a team and they never quit. Yesterday, the fruits of their labors paid off. Congrats Yankees! Finally, the best team won.

You have to understand, there's non-Yankees fans and then there's Yankee Haters™. They are a different breed of people. Non-Yankees fans can say "Congrats, see you next season". Yankee Haters™ cannot. Non-Yankees fans post regularly and do a little back and forth, but are always respectful. Yankee Haters™ aren't capable of that. Once you separate the two intellectually, one group is easy to enjoy, the other easy to mock.

They never want to talk about that. All they want to cry about is payroll, payroll, payroll. Through revenue sharing, those small market teams get a good chunk of change from the Yankees every year. It's not our fault they don't do anything with it. I'd rather have an owner like Steinbrenner than anyone else.

Hilarious! If I buy the most expensive guitar on the planet, does that make me able to play the best? Duh! The Yankees paid for players who were capable but who also played well together. There are many examples of stacked teams (Rangers come to mind) who simply couldn't make all the stars come together and win it all.
These people would likely be as horrible in a win as they are in their loss. Take a page from the Phillies manager who was so gracious in defeat that way you emulate the team you support as opposed to being an embarrassment to it.

That would make too much sense and we all know how much that sucks. The majority of these fools are Red Sox fans, though. Which is even more hilarious. If they were Phillies fans, okay.....you just lost the World Series and you're probably really pissy about it still. But these are fans of a team that got swept 2 rounds ago.

They play great baseball. That's how they won. It doesn't matter if they bought the best, the best WON. That's it!

*Guess what? Making the playoffs and winning a World Series results in a lot of ticket sales for your organization, which in turn results in a lot of money to re-invest. I'm sorry that the Yankees have this "invest and re-invest" thing down pat. Get over it. Win a championship 27 times, and watch how much your franchise develops into a world-class name. 27 baby, on top of the best record in the regular season! So much to hate, and so much to love when you're a New Yorker!

I LOLed. What is wrong with people? We don't go around saying sh_t like this when we don't win - at least nothing to the extent these people went to. I'm 19 years old and I know better than to say stuff like that to people. What is this world coming to? Yeah, I know I'm saying that and we won, but I know for a fact I would still be humble about it even if we lost. People suck, Beth. Let them haters hate! =D

Your guess is as good as mine.

No, we don't. We talk some smack, but who doesn't? I don't recall ever telling someone I hope their team's plane crashes.

You've got a brain between your ears, that's the difference. Most of these numbskulls don't have the sense God (or insert higher power of your choice) gave them.
//People suck, Beth. Let them haters hate! =D//
I let them hate all day, every day. Because when it's all said and done, our team won and theirs didn't. Maybe their team didn't even make the playoffs. Who knows. Jealousy breeds ugliness.

To all of the Yankee haters out there. Enough with the "high priced teams will always win" argument. The results just do not support this argument at all. The highest payrolls do not always make the playoffs let alone win the WS. If you don't believe me, just go through the last few years results and check the team payrolls. The reason for this is very simple. There is little relationship between the cost of talent and performance of the team as a whole. High priced talent doesn't automatically lead to a good team. And even if you start with a good team there is no guarantee they will stay that way. If you throw in injuries during the season, it further confounds any relationship between team price and performance. You can buy all of the high priced talent you want (and the Yankees do), but you can't always form that talent into a winning team. This year they did. Team building, and keeping a team healthy and producing, is far tougher than just buying the talent. So lets not demean what the Yankees organization accomplished this year. The Boss, his sons, Brian Cashman, and their organization not only put together a team of all-star talent, it was a team that clicked and kept right on clicking all year and right through the postseason. That the Yankee haters dismiss the accomplishments of the 2009 Yankees just demonstrates how little they really understand about great baseball teams.

Beth, I have to share this on my Facebook. Don't make it a sport responding to the haters- just let them wallow in their bitterness, stupitidy, and jealousy. Seriously, some of those comments look like they were written by a 12-year-old (which seems to be about the correct mental age for most Yankee haters).

By all means, go for it. Spread it around. The more people that can laugh at these idiots, the better. I don't respond to all of the haters, just the ones whose comments are so ridiculous, you almost have to. For the most part, I just copy them from the WS Game 6 post and put them here. As they keep posting, this post will keep growing.

Y'know, I can understand why so many people believe that the Yankees "buy" their World Series titles. Let's face it, the team is highly profitable, and some of their players' contracts are bigger that many teams' payrolls. Looking at it just from the point of view of payroll, it's easy to see why the haters think the Yankees can buy a World Series title. It's also stupid. If all it took to win the World Series was the highest payroll in MLB, then why did it take the Yankees 9 years to win another World Series after 2000, when they've had the highest payroll each year? I wrote about this very topic on my blog a couple of weeks ago...I proved that it takes more than just a high payroll to win the World Series. But the haters will see only what they want to see, and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Wow, after seeing all of these hate comments, it really is sad that we have these people as Baseball fans. Clearly, some of them don't even know what they're talking about. First off, Pettitte should be honored, by Haters and fans alike, for his stuff and strength that he possesses. Secondly, Quote - Visiting the mound 19 times in one inning, seriously? - mjfmurray90@gmail.com
Are you an idiot? It would 19 times in a game, dumb. Seriously? The Yanks have also proven that Money doesn't buy you championships; we've spent 200 mil - approx. for 9 straight years, and haven't won. It's about the team's determination, spirits, talents, etc. Other teams like the Twins have a relatively low payroll but were still successful during the season. So stop bsing about the Yanks having a payroll. Oh, we're sorry that you live in a crappy city where 5,000 fans attend a game. It's how it goes. The Mets, having a 100mil+ payroll, sucked this season. Another example yet why money doesn't buy championships.
These rants have made me enjoy myself; especially the ones from the pretend fans of Boston. Thanks for amusing the lives of us.
