King Albert wins the 2009 National League MVP.

I'm shocked I tell you.  Shocked.  Albert Pujols won another MVP award.  I know, I know.....this was so out of left field.  He never wins anything and he's such a role player and utility guy....to finally get this kind of recognition.....he must be so proud.

Just kidding, this was hardly unexpected.  Neither was the fact it was an unanimous decision.  He was placed first on all 32 ballots and save the one guy in Seattle who thought Miguel Cabrera should be MVP, both the AL and NL MVP voting would have been completely unanimous.  Probably the easiest selections in a while.  There really wasn't anyone else in either league who could have legitimately taken these honors away from them.

Albert is now the first NL player to win back-to-back MVPs since Barry Bonds won consecutive awards in 2001-2004.  Congrats!
