It's a horrible feeling... somebody you watched breathe, you watched smile, you watched laugh, somebody you watched speak... he's gone. I don't believe it. R.I.P. Bobby Murcer, may he rest in peace.

At least he'll get to see Thurman again. I'm sure he's looking forward to it. :-)

I fell really down about this right now, Beth. For me, Murcer was sort of a link to Munson and that era in addition to being a terrific player in his own right. His play on August 6, 1979, driving in all five runs in a walk-off win against Baltimore after eulogizing Munson that day was really what I remember most about him as a player. As a broadcaster, he was always nice to people, always someone people liked. More and more, it seems as though we lose people from the Yankees family--Scooter last year, Murcer this year. Sad.

Good to see you again, Jason. Haven't seen you around here in a while.

To what you said, I absolutely agree. Unfortunately, I started watching the Yankees in 1993, when all these great players had all retired and gone on to do other things, so I didn't have the experience of seeing them play and then feeling that sadness when they retired. I always loved Bobby in the booth though, so I'm feeling his loss in that way.

That great Yankee team in the sky just got one man better.

RIP, Bobby.
