All work and no play makes Yankees Chick a dull lady.

I do apologize for the lack of updates the last two days.  Work has had me swamped and when I get home, the last thing I want to do is go online and mess around.  So allow me to condense the last two games into this post.

Thursday's game we won.  Thankfully.  It was either that or we get swept.  Which has happened before already today and frankly, once is enough.  We got good pitching from Moose; not great, he did give up our lead and allow them to tie, but they never took the lead on us.  Which is improvement for him.  In fact, in the bottom of the 5th inning, we took the lead back.  Ohlendorf, Chamberlain and Mo all relieved him and and did a great job.  Mo has yet to give up a run and his era is still a sparkling and luminescent 0.00.

As far as the offense went, lotsa homers.  Four of them to be exact.  The only RBI not scored on a HR was Damon's double in the 5th.  It was nice to see some bats wake up, including but not limited to, Jason Giambi and Robbie Cano.  I long for the day they're both hitting over .200.  Maybe that day will come soon.  So all in all, it was a good win.

Now on to tonight's debacle.  Anyone and I do mean ANYONE who thought Igawa starting a game for us would be good news.....stand up and be counted so that we know how many rotten tomatoes to fling at you.  I guessed at what his line would be before the game, and I was pretty damn close and I didn't even watch it.  That's how bad he is.  You know he s.ucks even before he throws the ball.  $26 million dollars pissed down the drain, along with the buckets full of cash we gave and are giving Carl Pavano.  Remember when he started Opening Day last season because everyone else was injured?  Yeah, me neither.  Albaladejo injured himself pitching tonight, so that's another injury we can ill-afford, but will have to suffer with anyway.  LaTroy Hawkins and Edwar Ramirez finished up mop-up duty and did a good job.  In fact, the Tigers didn't score a run off our relievers, which begs the question; why didn't THEY start?  Thanks for trying guys.

Our offense was typical until the last damn minute, when the Yankees poured 3 runs on in the 9th to come to within one run.....only to lose anyway, proving that they are the world's greatest ****-teasers.  They do this all the time, and it's aggravating.  14 damn hits and all we were able to scrape up were 5 runs.  Silver lining; Robbie Cano is hitting .182 and Jason Giambi is hitting .178.  They're moving up to .200.  I can see it now.  Maybe another 3 or 4 games will do it.  I hope.

I heard on the news that there was a rumor about David Wells wanting to pitch again, and the Yankees were mentioned as a possible interested team ... any thoughts on that?

He can pitch again if he wants, just not for the Yankees. No more over-the-hill, out-of-shape, has-been pitchers please. Clemens last season was novelty enough. We need dependable, reliable pitchers to carry us at least into the 6th inning. I don't think Fatty McPorkRinds fits that bill anymore. Signing him would a "Steinbrenner" move, which flies in the face of what Cashman is trying to do by making our team younger and in better shape.

We don't need him.
