We really CAN beat Kansas City!

That was something we should have done the last two games, not just tonight.  We've only scored more than 4 runs twice and prior to last night's game, we were at our all-time low in runs scored in the first 9 games, since 1989.  A year we went 74-87.  So it was nice to see the team actually put some runs on the board.  Also, it was great to see some quality pitching from a starter.  Andy Pettitte did a great job tonight, working himself out of jams and keeping us in the game long enough for our offense to finally wake up.  We needed a big game from him and that's just what we got.  He went 6.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits.  Can't really ask for much more than that from him.  Joba and Mo relieved him, giving up a combined 3 hits and no runs.  Another MoJob well done.  I only hope this good pitching and hitting continue this weekend.  Not that I'm looking forward to it, mind you......

Six runs!  On 12 hits!  And the players who got the most hits aren't necessarily the ones you'd expect.  Morgan Ensberg, Melky and Jose Molina who I'm convinced is the greatest Yankee ever.  He always seems to have a good game, both at the plate and in the field.  The rest of the team could take a few notes.  We got HRs from Melky and from Mr. High Socks and even got some 2-out RsBI, which was our biggest bugaboo last season.  At first it looked like we weren't going to do jack squat tonight, but I'm always thankful to be proven wrong.  Let's knock Boston's butts into the harbor this weekend.  They love that dirty water, right?
