See, we CAN beat Tampa Bay.

Another game where we scored more than 4 runs.  !!!!!  Amazing.  Even better, we won with an absolutely atrocious final 4 innings.  That includes leaving the bases loaded in consecutive innings.  Blech.  We scored five runs, but it seemed like we had to struggle to get the runs across the plate and then later on in the game, we couldn't do jack or squat.  Thankfully our pitching held the line.  Andy Pettitte started the game and did a great job, pitching seven strong innings, giving up three runs on nine hits.  He walked three and struck out five; I'd like to see him walk less in his next start.  Farnsworth relieved him and didn't s.uck.  Shocking, I know.  Mo relieved him and got his 5 save of the year.  His ERA is 0.00.  It's just nice to look at.  Great pitching from us tonight.

The hitting on the other hand.....not so great.  We did score five runs, but we walked nine times and got eight hits.  The Rays pitching at one point did everything it could to help us score runs and we did zippo.  The last four innings were painful to watch.  The lone bright spot tonight offensively was Derek Jeter.  He's coming back from his injury well; last night and tonight he both did very well at the plate.  There are some people in our lineup that are hitting utterly abysmally.  Robbie Cano is hitting .175, Jason Giambi is hitting .094, Johnny Damon is hitting .200.  That's not right.  I hope those three get their sh!t together because they're black holes in our lineup right now.  They come to the plate, I cringe.  Get it together, boys.

BTW, congrats to the jackass Yankees fans that booed LaTroy Hawkins so much, he changed his number.  Way to go.  It doesn't make our fanbase look bad or anything like that.  Just another reason I'm sometimes embarrassed by these people.
