C.raptacular.

Oh wow that s*ucked.  Just when I thought we had a chance to win the game (coming back to within two runs), our pitching decides to teach us a lesson for being hopeful.  BTW, I don't know what was worse; Hawkins' pitching or the moronic fans chanting "Paul O'Neill" while he was pitching.  Hey chumps.....GET OVER IT, HIS NUMBER ISN'T BEING RETIRED ANYTIME SOON.  You're making O'Neill look bad with this garbage.  Seriously, you're making Red Sox fans look good, and there's no need for that.  It was more embarrassing than the pitching tonight.  I had to turn off the game because it was p*ssing me off.

That said, both he and Farnsworth stunk worse than 5 day old fish.  If you ever want the game to get out of hand fast, put Nuke LaFarnsworth into the game.  He'll cure what ails ya.  I just have this horrid feeling that the way we've played this team the last few seasons will continue this year.  I know it's one game, I know it's April, but still......we can do better than this.  At least we scored more than 3 runs!  I mean, that's something.  And Giambi got a hit and saved Derek's *** because of some sh!t throws.  Alex had some nice D over at 3B tonight as well.  Too bad nothing else went right.  Win tomorrow.  Please.

This game was just as you said "craptacular" lol. What's worse is that I was at that game, so I felt it first hand. As for the Paul O'neill chants, I actually enjoy them. I'm a big Paul O'neill fan so I'm bias, w/e. But, with the way Hawkins was pitching, he definitely didn't deserve to have that number on his back. The game was overall crummy. If I were at home watching it, I would've been pissed, but luckily there were some pretty drunk Yankee fans at the stadium shouting some hilarious comments to cheer me up.

I was so excited for tonight, seeing Kennedy pitch, and having the Yankees get off to a strong start. In the end it was none of the above other than what you said, a bunch of dumb fans chanting for a player that has been gone for 8 years. We'd better win the next three!

i was at the game as well again (was there just two days ago) it was SO exciting for that one inning when the offense came alive and it seemed like they were on a hitting and scoring roll.
then the two (hawkins? and KFF) from the bullpen had to go and screw it up, which was especially a shame since the others from the bullpen before them was keeping them in the game!
i hated hearing the paul o neil chant! what a dumb chant! i wans't happy with hawkins either, but how does chanting for someone who's been gone for years help the situation? do they think it's funny? does it make them play better? does it motivate the pitcher to pitch better? like he's actually thinking, "oh, i wanted to s*ck but now they're chanting for someone else, i guess i better get my sh*t together and throw strikes!" what a way to welcome a guy to ny! i was so embarrassed by the chanting fans tonight...
but the third inning was FUN! =) only fun in the game.

btw- funny story: my husband and i were at the game with a friend and my husband left at the start of the bottom of the third to get me some food. as soon as he left matsui hit the HR and all those hits and runs scored.
as soon as the inning ended- on the dot - is when my husband returned with the food (so he missed it ALL!)
after 3 more innings of nada in which 9 yankee batters went down in order, our friend and i made my husband go get more food (actually he went willingly)! we're that superstitious! too bad it didn't work =(
