WOW.  Coupling this with Santana going to the Sox, the Yankees are probably the #4 or 5 team in the AL next season.  And this is even after we re-signed everyone.  You have Detroit/Boston/Anaheim as the favorites to win their respective divisions, and then you have us, Cleveland, maybe Toronto fighting for the WC.  And this is even after we re-signed everyone.  Shi!tballs.

We haven't acquired Johan yet though. But at this point I want that proposed trade to go through.

I do believe that Cabrera makes the Tigers' offense quite formidable, and that part of the trade was very good. I'm not convinced that Willis solves their significant rotation issues, however. He was bad in 2007 (10-15, 5.17 ERA, 29 homers allowed), and he might really struggle in his transition to the AL. The Tigers made a big move, and improved part of their club. But the pitching, especially with Zumaya's injury, Bonderman's return from injury, and iffy starters Robertson and Rogers, still needs a lot of work.

I still like the Yankees' chances. They're not perfect, either, but are pretty darn good.

I agree with Jason. I also think the Yankees are pretty darn good;

Tigers really hit it big with Cabrera but with D Train??? Not so much unless this past season was a fluke. But what in the world is the Marlins FO is thinking???

Of course, I should talk - a Met fan waiting for Omar to get off his "duff". :) we just seem to get the retreads and reclaimation pitching projects for Peterson.. !

But the Yankees?? Nah, they still look pretty darn good to me.
