Now, Roger's ERA against the Mets isn't sparkling, but his last 3 starts against the Mets have been amazing:

2003: 8 IP 6 hits 1 walk 1ER 7Ks
2004: 7IP 2 hits 1 walk 0ER 10Ks
2005: 7IP 2 hits 1 walk 0ER 9Ks

I'll take that one.  It's also Andy Pettitte's 35th birthday today (Happy B-Day, Andy!), and I think it would be a great present for not only him but for all Yankees fans, if Rocket kicked some Met ass.  Sorry, Lee-Ellen.  :-(

These are good stats to include, Beth, and I'd settle for any of those starts. I think that a huge key will be getting the Mets to bite on his split-finger fastball. He also had a sharp change-up against the Pirates, and could use both tonight. The Mets, like the Pirates, will surely try to be patient with him to get him out of the game, but with our bullpen rested, this is hardly the same concern as it was a month ago.

I like our chances tonight.

This is something Flash said yesterday during the game; if for whatever reason Rocket or Clippard don't go 7 innings, we have a rested pen because of Wang, Moose and Andy. So they have a little lee-way if they get into trouble or have too high a PC before the 7th.
