Hey look.....we didn't lose!

We won.  Shocking, I know.  I almost forgot the formula for putting one of these posts together.  It's not like this game was any indication of blistering offense or anything, what with us only scoring 2 runs.  2 runs.  Another putrid offensive performance; thankfully Moose only gave up 1 run, so we didn't lose.  Although Farnsworth made it close in the 8th.  I'm sick of this.  Even when we win, it's not enough anymore.  2 runs?!  2 measly **** runs?!  Way to show up, offense.  Way to show up.  After the first inning, we didn't do dick.  Alex went 3-3.  Well, it's A-Rod; I expect nothing less than his best every night.  Everyone else?  Eh.

Don't have much else to say here.  A win is a win, but I hate these kinds of wins.  No one does anything.  Aside from Moose being efficient (why pull him at 84 pitches? ***** you Torre.), there's not much else to say.  Mo was finally used in the right situation and lo and behold, he was effective.  Funny how that works.

You're right. The win did not feel very good. But at least it was a win. I'll take what I can get at this point.

the win was GREAT, the game was NOT!
Mussina was GREAT, the offense after the first inning was NOT.

Mo was GREAT, KFF's attitude and boohooing after being pulled was NOT!

btw beth- no pics of Mo? I thought he was just AWESOME, if not the difference in this game from the past week.

What do you think about Farnsworth's little tirade after being taken out for Mo in the 8th. I didn't hear what he had to say in the postgame but he should have at least waited until he got into the clubhouse before he blew up. Overall a win that was needed and hopefully Igawa pitches well. Go Yanks.

i think farnsworth is a grandstanding punk. you'd think with the utterly appalling performances he's been turning in he's be a BIT more humble

yeah seriously.

the way he's been pitching was starting to irritate me. and now his attitude is starting to **** me off!
someone needs to take him down a few notches. who does he think he is?! he visibly showed MAJOR 'tude about melky and abreu's misplay before- busted a bat in the dugout! now, he's slamming gloves and cursing off the field! UNACCEPTABLE!

Apparently, Nuke declined to comment in post-game interviews about his hissy fit, which was inexcusable and an embarrassment to him, Mariano, Torre especially, and the organization as a whole. What a big baby. They should trade him right away for such a public tantrum, his second in less than a week. I hope the veterans read him the riot act about that sniveling garbage, then they ship him to the Pirates.

Is that where we're at right now as a fan base? That's shameful. I still can't believe we did jack s--t from the 1st onward. We were a Nuke meltdown away from losing. Again. I don't like that. They call them "insurance" runs for a reason.

I would have put a pic of Mo up if there was one. There was like, 5 pictures and 2 were Yankees and they so happened to be Mike and Alex. Mo always gets a Star even if he's not named, just because he's Mo and he's gotten real good at cleaning up everyone else's messes around here.

I thought it was ridiculous. If Mo hadn't come in and cleaned up after him, we would have lost the game because 2 runs isn't going to cut it against most teams. I was actually getting ready to write the "Oh boy, Farnsworthless blew it again" post when Torre got off his *** and put Mo out there. When he's effective, he's real good but the problem is that he's hardly effective anymore. It's like he's taken over Mitch Williams' old motto: Effectively wild. It's getting to be too much. We don't have a reliable set-up man for Mo. Our starters (for the most part) don't go deep enough into the game for us to just need 1 or 2 people to close out games.

The problem is that getting rid of him creates a bigger hole in the bullpen. So we're kinda stuck with him, unless we can get someone better for him....which probably won't happen. It's not so much what he did as when he did it that bothers me. If you want to get all huffy, do it when you're not in the dugout and cameras are on you. You'll look like less of a tool that way.
