While we haven’t been getting the best of performances from our bullpen the last few games, our starting pitching has been great — this afternoon was no exception. Phil Hughes brought his record this season to 10-1, with a final line of 7 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB and 4 K. Joba came in to pitch the 8th and gave up no runs. Hallelujah! Mo pitched the 9th and got his 16th save on the season. Well done. Now let’s take the rubber match tomorrow and win the series.
Unlike yesterday, wherein the offense was harder to come by than a beer in Beirut, today we actually got something going at the plate. Granted not much and four of runs came as a result of homers, but it’s better than nothing. Hell, we even got a run because of a double play. Only the Yankees. *shakes head* We got a couple standout performances from our lineup today; Mark (1-4, 2 RBI), Grandy (1-3, 2 RBI) and Gardy (2-4). I hope to get a little more out of everyone else tomorrow……I hope.
