Game 43: Where the heck did everyone go?
……..I suppose this title could not only apply to the Yankees, as they’ve disappeared…..but also to all my commentors/readers. I haven’t gotten any feedback on any of my entries since the first game of the Boston series. That’s extremely disheartening. Enough so, that I’ve been contemplating leaving the blog because as much as I enjoy writing for myself, I enjoy writing for other people. I mean, I like getting the comments and the conversation that comes from that and I feel like I’m talking to myself. The fact the Yankees have been playing so dismally recently isn’t really helping much.
I don’t know what’s gotten more irritating at this point — the Yankees’ pitching putting them in an early hole, or the “too little, too late” comeback in the 9th inning that always falls one or two runs short of actually mattering. It’s getting old. We get great starting pitching (CC, Javy), the offense does nothing or the bullpen spits the bit. We get crappy pitching, the offense fails to keep up or does when it doesn’t matter. Damn, we’ve become the Red Sox. And that kind of sucks, since they’re playing right now like we did to start the season. LET’S GET IT TOGETHER, PLEASE.

Beth: It seems like MLBlogs isn’t as active as it was last season. I’m sure things will pick up as the season goes on. As for the Yankees, I am also a bit disgusted. The offense sucks, but then at the end when they finally realize they need to hit, they hit. I think Girardi should have a team meeting or something. And he needs to get his act together. The offense sucks, so why not make things happen? He needs to force the action – hit and run, steal a base, do SOMETHING productive. I’m tired of seeing a leadoff single and then seeing the runner stranded at first base. Enough is enough.

I hear you on that one. I can’t think of anything more obnoxious than the offense doing nothing all game, and then putting up 3-4 runs in the 9th when we’re down by 5 or 6. It’s like…..you couldn’t have done this earlier in the game when it could have mattered? It’s annoying and I hope it ends soon.

Don’t stop writing. I came across your blog today and I really enjoy it. You have gained another fan. As for this entry…as much as the Yanks sucks right now I am positive that they’ll be fine. If we are still playing like this in July then I’ll start to panic. Good stuff, though.

Thanks, Nareah. I always appreciate that you keep up with the place, you’ve been a faithful reader since Day 1. I guess I just got a little down on myself and the fact the Yankees have been playing so poorly hasn’t helped.
